5D round up

Since the long awaited news from Canon about their new full-frame ‘pro-sumer’ camera, the 5DmkII, I thought I would do a little round up from the web, and post a few choice links highlighting it’s great features, sample photos, and video from the camera.

After much teasing with their eclipsed moon site and general gossip from the rumour sites, Canon unveiled it to us, with very little surprises as to the spec.

The best features in my view are the 21.1 megapixels, low noise high ISO capabilities, and potential for video. Let’s hope that the video does not show the same jelly wobble as the Nikon D90, which is frankly shameful.

Amazing Olympic photographer for Newsweek and one of Canon’s stable of pro photographers, Vincent Laforet secretly got to work with the 5DmkII’s video capabilities on an undercover $5000 dollar bare-bones shoot, results of which he will be posting on his site - can’t wait.

The 5DmkII paired with Canon’s new 24mm 1.4 L lens with special ‘Sub Wavelength structure Coating’ for reducing flare and ghosting has got to be good - look forward to sample pics from that when it is released.
